Biography

Cobhams Emmanuel Asuquo is a Nigerian songwriter, producer, and performer known for his prolific impact behind the scenes and as a solo artist. Born in 1981 and visually impaired from birth, he trained in law before fully dedicating himself to music. Over the years, he has produced major albums and songs for artists such as Asa, Banky W., Omawumi, Dare Art-Alade, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Bez, and many others. His production work spans genres and generations, guiding the sound of Nigerian soul, pop, and gospel.

He stepped into his own as a recording artist with singles like Ordinary People and We Plenti, and his debut album For You was met with acclaim for its emotional depth, vocal richness, and musical craftsmanship. Cobhams is also the founder of CAMP (Cobhams Asuquo Music Productions) and Vintage Gray Media, platforms that nurture and showcase emerging talent. Beyond music, he is known for advocacy — he serves as UNICEF National Ambassador, using his voice to champion children’s rights, as well as working in media to highlight value, creativity, and excellence in African music.
